The White Hart, Brigg
A Venue as Special as your Occasion
Hire your very own riverside pub and hotel!
Think of a large farmhouse but instead of a living room you have your own bar…… oh and it has a snug, attached cottage rooms, function area, large kitchen, riverside beer garden and of course the 15 + 2 bedrooms with enough beds to sleep 40.
A unique luxury waterfront celebration venue, The White Hart Pub has been restored and converted into an exclusive self-catering venue for you to hire.
You will have exclusive use of the whole venue.
Established in 1759 and sitting on the banks of the Old River Ancholme, farmers and traders used to leave their horses and carts in the White Hart pub stables that backed onto Sergeants Brewery. Grand houses ran on both sides, the reading room, Springs factory all now long gone….The White Hart has stood the test of time. In 1978 Ray Neall purchased the pub when it was in a state of disrepair. This was the last time it was renovated, until now!
We have retained the original bar area, increased the large function space, added a high-end kitchen, intimate snugs, games area, landscaped the riverside beer garden and added 15 bedrooms with a further 2 cottage bedroom snugs.
We can be anything you need…. from unforgettable family parties, birthdays and anniversaries to spectacular DIY weddings and seriously impressive corporate events and meetings. Perfect for large groups with a flexible space to hold events throughout the year.
This self-catering venue is attractive to people from all over the country with the capacity alone. Why hire a farmhouse when you can hire your own pub!
There’s nowhere quite like The White Hart, Brigg.

Cooking & Dining
To ensure catering for a large group is a pleasure, we have thoughtfully designed the kitchen so it flows easily into the front snug and the principal dining area overlooking the riverside garden. The bespoke fitted kitchen has NEFF Appliances installed throughout including three ovens, microwave, two tall fridges, one tall freezer, two dishwashers and a large double sink. The central island features two induction hobs and an additional sink. The kitchen has a breakfast area complete with original pub pews and tables for small groups to enjoy breakfast or a place to sit whilst gathering in the kitchen.
There is generous cupboard storage space in the kitchen and also a separate adjoining pantry stocked with an abundance of cookware, crockery, utensils and glassware for you to use. Washing machine and tumble dryer are provided in the separate utility room at the rear of the kitchen.
Our riverside function area offers flexible table layouts allowing you to seat and dine up to 40 guests in a series of combinations.
As the property is so well equipped whether you wish to cook or use one of our many highly recommended outside caterers, everything you need to put on a meal to remember is provided.
Living Spaces
The Pub
The White Hart is deceptively spacious, flowing seamlessly from its intimate snug and piano bar into the generous open plan games and dining areas that open directly onto its riverside terrace.
The bar area is located in the central space and naturally evolves into the main social hub of the venue. Complete with bar stools, drinks fridges and glassware. Bring your own alcohol and stock the bar as you wish, serve drinks over the original bar, which retains many of its original features. Please note. We are not a licensed premises. Three of the pumps do work and you can purchase a barrel or two from one of our third party friends.
A pub would not be the same without a games area and located next to the bar there is a pool table, dart board and retro games arcade! If you are holding a wedding or event, the pool table can be moved into a hidden storage area behind the dining area to create a large dancefloor. There is a sound system with zoned speakers throughout the ground floor of the pub, accompanied by TV’s in the bar area.
The front of the pub dates back to the 18th Century and the snug offers a place to relax with comfortable chairs and sofas whilst enjoying the atmosphere.
The Pub Cottage
The Cottage offers an escape for those wanting some quiet time and offers a flexible detached space for any events you may be having at The White Hart – such as a separate catering prep area or the perfect dressing room for a wedding party. The cottage is connected to the main pub at first floor but can be separately accessed at ground floor from the private car park area.
Accessed with the security key fob at ground floor the cottage offers two uniquely styled living rooms each with their own Hypnos large double sofa beds (forming part of the overall sleeping capacity numbers) and a separate fully equipped kitchen with an adjoining WC.
Outdoor Areas
A generous landscaped riverside terrace runs along the length of the main pub, offering outdoor seating, covered outside space and dining areas that benefit from views of The Old River Ancholme. The terrace also has its own private mooring for your exclusive use.
A private parking courtyard for 16-20 cars is discreetly located at the rear of the pub, accessed through the archway from Bridge Street.
Important note: The archway through to the car park is 2.1m in height
Brigg and Surrounding Area
The White Hart occupies a fabulous position on the ‘Old River Ancholme’ at the entrance into the old Market Square. Brigg is locally renowned as one of the best towns for independent shopping and its fantastic farmers’ market, which is in addition to the traditional market that takes place every Thursday. The snug “courts” and “yards” have the most unusual shops. From finding those special one-off pieces to wedding attire Brigg has it all. With lots of places to eat and drink in walking distance from The White Hart, Brigg really is the quintessential market town.
You can explore the River Ancholme and the rest of the Ancholme Valley by following the Ancholme Valley Way. The path takes you from Brigg all the way to South Ferriby (10 miles) . You can enjoy the path either by foot or cycle, it’s the perfect way to enjoy the riverbank’s beautiful wildlife and diverse landscape.
