DIY Weddings

Is there anything worse than a ‘wedding package’ where you must have this… if you choose that? And if you want that option, it will cost you twice as much because there’s an R in the month?

The White Hart is a former pub and hotel and can be your perfect DIY wedding venue. Your wedding day should be exactly how you and your partner want it which means you get to enjoy the food and drink you love, dance or listen to the music you like and have the decorations you want.

Unlike other large houses to hire for events The White Hart is a completely blank canvas for you to put your own creative stamp on whether that’s a small intimate event, ceremony with just a few friends or an all-singing, all-dancing weekend-long celebration.

If your friends and family pay for their rooms you nearly have the venue cost free!

To cover our attendance during the civil ceremony, liability insurance, licence fees, increased capacity and cleaning the additional charge will be £750 including vat. Food & Drink

Here’s the best bit about a DIY wedding in a private venue, you get to eat and drink exactly what you want. No set menus. No restrictions. No corkage fees.

A wedding’s not a wedding without a glass of fizz or two to toast the happy couple. Having a wedding where you can supply your own bubbles is a good way to keep the costs down. We’ve noticed many wedding venues charge for corkage. Not at The White Hart, you can stock your own bar. So once you’ve paid for your fizz, or any other booze for that matter, that’s it. Nothing more to pay or worrying about how many bottles of champs Uncle Harry is working his way through – and how much it’s going to cost you.

There’s plenty of room in our main kitchen for your outside caterers to provide a sumptuous feast. And how about food for later in the evening…. order in a Chinese or Indian banquet. An ice cream van or a fish and chip van always goes down well in the evening.

DIY weddings are a completely blank canvas for you and your partner to put your own stamp on.

Whether you’re arranging a wedding, a celebration, a corporate event or a family holiday, you’re completely free to organise your own suppliers. From caterers, cocktail bars, casinos and classic house DJs to ice cream vans, fireworks and magicians: you get to choose the kind of event you want and the people you want to help you.
